Without further ado, here are the most popular blog articles from the year that was! Is your favorite listed here? Leave me a comment below!
Sidenote: I cheated a little bit, you guys. Our top post of 2018 is actually 100+ Educational Stocking Stuffers, but I figured you were tired of hearing about holiday stuff by now and so I chose the next ten posts.
1. Exploring Nature with Children
This one is a perennial favorite, showing up on our top 10 lists year after year.
And with good reason!
Exploring Nature with Children is one of our all-time favorite, go-to homeschool resources. It’s comprehensive, super easy to use, and is an incredible value!
You can read the full article here.
2. One-Player Games
It’s no secret that we are a family of gameschoolers, and therefore it comes as no surprise that several gameschool resources are featured on our top 10 list.
One-player games are fantastic! They can be used for quiet time and also when you would like to work with one child but keep another occupied and learning.

Seen here: Balance Beans by ThinkFun. She has no idea she’s practicing early algebra and physic skills here! Gameschooling for the win!
We even play one-player games together! That’s right, we’ll pick a favorite and take turns, or add a timer to see who is the fastest player!

3. Perfectionism, Fear of Failure, and the Gifted Child
This is another perennial favorite.
If you are parenting a gifted or twice-exceptional child, you are likely no stranger to perfectionism and anxiety. I hope that this resource will help you.

4. Cooperative Games
Cooperative games are tons of fun, plus they help children to practice important skills.
These games are great for non-competitive kids who shy away from playing games with ultra-competitive siblings.
But they are also wonderful for those super competitive kids! Cooperative games help children learn how to cooperate, work together, be a part of a team, and how to win and lose with grace.
Do you need more cooperative games in your life? You aren’t alone!

9. Homeschool Curriculum: How to Ditch the Schedule and Embrace a Lifestyle
I wrote this article because people are always asking me what our homeschool day looks like and that is a tough question to answer.
We have been homeschooling long enough now that I’ve lost most of that public school mindset and embraced a homeschool lifestyle.

Gym class, nature study, and science- all rolled into one! This portable microscope is one of our favorite homeschool things.
You can read about what that looks like here.
