Leo has discovered The Story of the World and he is in love! We have the audiobook in the car and Leo follows along in the text. Seeing him deeply engaged in that book at preschool drop-off makes for interesting conversation with the preschool teachers.
I digress… Recently, we have had even more comical conversations about SOTW (see what I did there? I’m getting the homeschooling lingo down pat!). The other day, we listened to the chapter about Hammurabi’s Code. When the narrator said, “…an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth…” T shouted, “HEY! THAT’S JUST LIKE THE ZAC BROWN BAND SONG!!!”
She was referring to the song “Cold Hearted” by Zac Brown Band. In the song, the chorus begins, “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth…”And then the kids had a great little conversation about Hammurabi’s Code and the Zac Brown Band song. It was hysterical, and kind of awesome.
