A Ninja, He is Not

This afternoon’s board game challenge game, Rivers Roads & Rails, was interrupted prematurely when Leo asked T if she wanted a lesson on how to be a ninja. He informed us that he had spent his quiet time researching ninjas, as he is determined to improve his ninja skills.

A Ninja, He is Not

Those who know Leo in real life are laughing right now because Leo just might be the world’s loudest child. He makes noise from the moment he wakes up until he passes out, and usually that noise is loud.

A couple of years ago, we had our front steps and walkway redone by a local mason. He and his workers would comment every single day on how loud our child was. They couldn’t believe that they could hear him when he was inside our house over the noise that they were making. They’d laugh about it daily, and joke that they always knew where he was within our home. I would counter, “Try living with it!”

To illustrate my point, here is a video taken moments before our game was disbanded and I will add that this is actually quiet for him, because he was concentrating on his move:

Right now, as I type, I am listening to the ninja lesson that is happening on the other side of our home. A ninja, he is not, folks. I always tell Schizz I want those Bose noise-canceling headphones and he always thinks I’m joking. I’m thinking that I should write a post in which I share the various noises throughout our day. It might be comical, and maybe- just maybe- Schizz will finally get me those headphones!

Tell me, are your children noisy? Can you tell that they have passed out at the end of the night by the sudden stillness that envelops your home? Share your stories here!

One word - YES! 🙂 My mom was here last weekend, and at breakfast, she couldn’t help but comment on the noise level. She loves being around them, and loves their rhythms, but yes, they are definitely LOUD.

Love it!! I’m sitting here, typing in silence. No wonder I stay up too late these days. It’s just so much quieter! 🙂
