As I’ve mentioned before, Leo never, ever, ever, ever stops moving. This includes reading. He is always reading on the go!
This is us, leaving the library heading to pick up dinner.
I also found this gem of a video from when Leo first started reading, a couple years ago:
Can anyone else out there relate to this? Are your kids always reading on the go? Share a story here!

I used to read while taking walks. When I was 20-something.
So great! I have read everywhere but I have yet to master the art of reading and walking 🙂
I can completely relate to the constant motion & deep love of books. My kids very rarely stop moving. One of their favorite places to read at home is on a bouncy exercise ball, and we almost never leave the house without a few bags full of reading material :-).
Us too! It’s funny you should mention reading while on a bouncy ball. I have read a few articles recently that indicate movement can aid learning in some people. Some kids recall math facts better when they are shown flashcards while on a trampoline for example.
Totally! This is definitely our 9yo and we’re accustomed to keeping a running commentary to/for him: “turn left here”, etc.
I will have to practice this, tmonk!
My 6 year old is just the same. Her books accompany her EVERYWHERE. It’s a nice trait when we are shopping for boring things…she just plops down with her book and I occasionally move her to a new area. 🙂
I always say that one of the best things that happened to us was when Leo learned to read. Life became so much easier, as he could seek knowledge independently and wasn’t frustrated with having to rely on us entirely. Behavior problems decreased significantly!
