Today has been one of those rainy, raw, and dark New England days. It is the kind of day that makes even the most morning of morning people want to roll over in bed and waste the day. Before I had any real responsibilities, I used to call this type of day a re-jam day. A re-jam day is the ultimate lazy day. On a re-jam day, I would get up, have a cup of coffee, take a quick shower, re-jam (read: put on clean jammies), and then return to my bed with my second cup of coffee and a good book, or two, or five. It was time well wasted.
This morning, I opened the shades and faced the gloom. I had the urge to re-jam but, alas, such luxuries are not the life of a mama. I proceeded down the stairs to caffeinate and get my little poppies ready for breakfast.
