Do you have a kid with psychomotor overexcitability or ADHD? I sure do! Leo is a climber.
Leo could climb out of his crib before he could walk. We had to buy a crib tent to keep him contained. Otherwise, he would get into trouble in the wee hours of the morning.
I remember when he was three years old, he would climb when talking to me. I would watch him stand on moulding, and hang from chair rails.
I have this vision of him, halfway up my refrigerator, feet totally off of the floor, hanging from the handle. He was blabbering on about something. I swear it was not malicious; he had no idea.
“Leo!” I said, “Where are your feet right now?”
He paused, looked to his feet, planted them to the floor. “Sorry,Mumma!” he’d exclaim. He meant it. And then he’d continue with his story or explanation or whatever and, within twenty seconds, those feet would be off the floor once more.
Not much has changed. Seuss, T and I were playing a game of tag on a tennis court today. I turned for a second and there he was…up at the top of the fence with his leg over the top, attempting a descent on the other side.
He had been talking the entire time. He was explaining the characters and plot of his latest book craze. When he’s thinking, he’s moving, and often climbing.
He is not consciously aware of his momentum.

Hello! I can see my little boy to your son, he’s very energetic in all he want’s to do. And also things that interest him he can learned it easily. I can say he’s also a gifted learner but yet frustrating because he can’t sit still and can’t focus to things he’s not interested with. He’s 4 y.o. now but his reading skills is quite advanced, he can read children’s book already. He learned to decode the phonics easily and he has a great interest in solar system and animals. He can easily grasp math concept too but he struggles in terms of communication the two way process. That’s why I’m also advocating him, he’s also homeschooled.
