We survived February, folks! Three cheers for the coming months of longer, sunnier days and sediment in the bathtub. We had a pretty good week over here. It was technically February school vacation week in our state, but we maintained a homeschool routine. From maple syrup to History Unboxed to art to snuggle parties, I’d say it was a successful week of learning together.
My Little Poppies Week in Review
Here is how we spent the last week of February. When you are finished reading, I’d love to hear how your week was!
Here’s what the poppies have been up to:
Saturday & Sunday
It was a gorgeous weekend here in New England and we took full advantage by getting outside. The kids built a fantastic fort together and slept very well each night!
We also had fun with a 3D drawing pen. Stay tuned for a post soon!

I never enjoyed cooking… until we started homeschooling. Now I have willing helpers and we have all learned so much cooking and baking together. This book and this one are our favorites!

This week’s hot topics:
I love to share what I’ve been reading on both Facebook and Twitter. These were the articles that garnered the most discussions and shares this week.
- This teachers’ “secret weapon” will raise your child’s confidence and cooperation in just 2 seconds. Seriously. ~ Paula Spencer Scott, Kinstantly
- Harper Lee, A Life in Pictures ~ The Guardian
- It’s Not Your Job To Discipline Someone Else’s Child ~

I love your weekly round-ups. All those smiling faces and great ideas! And your list of hot topics is always so interesting. I especially love the card designs. My sister’s just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her prognosis is excellent but these were just what I needed to see.
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. Yay for lighter, warmer days (even in England)!
Thank you so much, Lucinda! I used to do them all the time and then I got away from them. I thought they should come back because everyone always wants to know what we are reading. 🙂 Hope you have a fantastic weekend!!
