See that guy above? His name is Fergus Femur and he’s our new fall friend. We have had so much fun playing with Fergus. We take turns hiding him in various spots and hilarity ensues!
As you can guess, our family loves to read seasonal titles, enjoy holiday-themed play with Spielgaben, and play holiday-themed games.
Today, I am sharing some of our favorite play ideas, picture books, and gameschooling tips with you!
The Best Halloween Books for Your Homeschool
*Disclosure: We received a Spielgaben set at no cost in exchange for a review. We are honored to work with Spielgaben. This post is part of a monthly series featuring how we use Spielgaben in our homeschool. All thoughts and opinions are my own. You can read my review of Spielgaben here.
Our family’s favorite Halloween books
I’ve included many of our family’s favorite Halloween picture books here, but I’ve also included two volumes that I remember from childhood. My children have recently discovered them and they have fallen head-over-heels. That said, they are totally creepy so please preview. I have had more than one kiddo wake me up at night after reading them!

The kids have been having a spooktacular time playing with our Spielgaben set this Halloween season!
Fergus Femur has enjoyed the set as well!
Ferug even inspired some Spielgaben skeleton creations!
The Halloween-themed Spielgaben play has been happening almost all the time, all over our playroom floor. It has been oodles of fun to watch! Every morning I find new creations.
One morning, I found a spider, a skeleton, and a bat:
Another day, I discovered a ghost, a vampire, and a tombstone:
I think my favorite discovery of all was the witch, stirring her magical brew:
