By now, you all know that we are a family of board game addicts.
When you play a game with your family, you are not only creating memories and building relationships, but you are working on important skills from social skills to math to reading! Board games are a huge part of our curriculum over here. I love games so much that I have an entire gift-worthy games series – with a giveaway!– happening here starting tomorrow.
But today I’m sharing a fun activity for the game lovers in your life. Did you know that there is a DIY game kit on the market?
DIY Board Games
I feel the need to share this little gem with you all today. Do you know a child who loves to create? Does that little person also love board games? This is a perfect activity for those little artistic gamers in your life. It has saved many a sick day and rainy day over here, folks.
This little box packs a punch, with five games ready to be decorated by your children. The kit includes Snakes and Ladders, Ludo/Parcheesi, Checkers, Backgammon, and Game of the Goose. If you do one game at a time, you have many days of activities and a lifetime of game playing!
The DIY Board Game kit has inspired creativity, cooperation, and fun in our home. I love that the kids make memories together and that we can play these game together for years to come.
But, do you want to know the best part about this kit? The creativity doesn’t stop when you close the box. My children have been making oodles of games of their own invention, including a bunch of Inside Out games that I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. Also, stay tuned for a post over on GeekMom about our recent game making!
