Your daily read-aloud is the most important part of your *entire* homeschool day. It almost sounds too simple, but it's true. The best ideas are often the simplest ones!

Homeschooling shouldn't feel super hard or complicated. You can cultivate a family culture of curiosity and joyful, lifelong learning... and it doesn't need to look anything like the public school of your past!

Rock your read-alouds.

As a school psychologist, homeschool mom, and bibliophile, I know the importance of reading aloud to children and teens.

We just muddled through the worst homeschool year I can ever remember. I dropped lots of balls as a result, but do you know what?

Our daily read-aloud routine thrived during 2020 and 2021. Why? Because it's simple and sustainable. And this simple routine fuels learning all week long.

I want to teach you how to start a read-aloud habit. This simple habit can help you to raise curious, joyful, lifelong learners - even during a year as weird as 2020!

Hi there! I'm Cait.

Caitlin Fitzpatrick Curley, MA/CAGS, owner My Little Poppies: Suddenly, unexpectedly, homeschooling... and enjoying the ride!

I'm a school psychologist, mom to three terrific kiddos, bibliophile, and an unexpected homeschooler. I love delicious books, board games, nature, strong coffee, and dancing in my kitchen.

I believe that homeschooling can be *almost* all fun and games and I'd love to show you how to knock the most important part of your *entire* homeschool day straight out of the park!

What Homeschoolers Are Saying...

I have been using your Coffee and Books routine since you first blogged about it a few years ago and it works!!! My kids are in 8th and 10th grades now but no matter what they may be working on, we always start our morning this way and we all feel successful, well fed, and cozy. Highly recommend this to new homeschool families!

One of the things I really love is the abundance of resources that you added to each lesson from the awesome TED talks to the seemingly endless book lists.

Admittedly we already do a fair amount of read-alouds in our house and in our homeschool, but I knew with the pandemic I would need some reassurances on the hardest of weeks and days to stick to the basics, and I wanted a cheerleader to help remind me that would be enough. You have done that for sure! Thank you.

I am really enjoying the course! It’s helping me to feel re-inspired for the new year. I’ve always wanted to “be better” at read aloud time and it’s helping me with ideas and inspiration. I have been collecting books over the last few years, and oddly I just felt like I didn’t know where to start!? I always feel the need to go to the more obvious “learning” type books, but now I’m thinking I just need to start with fun books that I know the kids will love to get us into a rhythm.
