Do your children love to sing? Do they ever sing songs incorrectly? I love hearing about adorably confused song lyrics! Here is a post that I wrote this time last year about this very topic. It includes a video of my youngest singing Wham! You’re welcome!!
Folks, I’ve been stuck in the house with sick kids for far too many days. We’re starting to get a little goofy over here. I am desperate for entertainment. Seuss, ever the entertainer, offered to put on a show for us and we happily obliged. He performed several adorable acts, but my favorite number was this rendition of a Wham! classic, Last Christmas:
You will note that instead of singing “I gave you my heart,” Seuss sings, “I gabbymaho” which is how we sing it in our house. In fact, we don’t call this song Last Christmas at all, we call it Gabbymaho. Why? Because when Leo was two years old, he was obsessed with this song and would sing “I gabbymaho” instead of “I gave you my heart” every single time. It became a thing. It’s impossible for any of us to sing it the correct way now. I know our family has other songs like this, with adorable and forever confused song lyrics, but I’m way too tired to recall even one of them. It’s driving me nuts, but my brain is simply unable to call them up at the moment. No doubt, they will come to me at three o’clock tomorrow morning when I should be sleeping.
In the meantime, I will leave you with Fumpetty-Fump. Happy holidays, all!

My daughter asked me why a spider was following Jesus. I asked her what she meant and she sang those words instead of :”I have decided to follow Jesus ” .
Oh, I love confused song lyrics.
When my daughter was much younger (maybe 3 or 4?) she came up with these gems:
– “It’s the lion and tiger, it’s the thrill of the fight…” (Eye of the Tiger)
– “Do you really want to hug me?” (Culture Club song – real lyric is ‘do you really want to hurt me?’)
Seuss is ADORABLE! He’s at the age where I always wanted to freeze time with my three girls.
LOVE THESE!!!!
